Tuesday April 20th 2010.- At 1822 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a rubbish and brush fire in the area of State Route 13 and Old Ithaca Rd. Brush Truck 1671 responded with Chief 1601, Tanker 1661 and Engine 1631 all responded. 1601 established Incident Command upon arrival. Water Supply was established with a portable pump from a nearby creek. A total of 17 Firefighters were on scene for roughly an hour. Units were back in service at 2005 Hours.

Wednesday April 7th 2010.- At 1506 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Brush Fire in the Town of Horseheads off of Latta Brook Road. Brush Truck 1671 Responded within a minute of the initial dispatch. Engine 1631 responded with Lieutenant Ricky Skebey on board. Upon arrival, firefighters were faced with a battle. The line of fire was spreading uphill and away. 1671 made a attack at the bottom of line and worked halfway up the hill before making an attack from the top to prevent further spreading of the fire. Mutual Aid was provided on scene by Elmira Heights F.D., Breesport F.D., Erin F.D. Horseheads Village F.D. was on standby.

Tuesday March 30th 2010.- At 1617 Hours, T&C Units received a call for a Chimney Fire in the Eastern section of the Fire Protection District. 1st Due Engine 1634 en route with Chief 1601 and Lieutenant 1614. Also out the door was Tanker 1661. Upon arrival 1601 reported a working fire. 2nd Due Engine 1631 also responded to the scene. Units remained on scene for approximately 1 Hour. T&C Units were Back in Service shortly after 1730 Hours.

Thursday February 25th 2010.- At 1120 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident Vehicle with Injuries on Moss Hill Road in the Town of Horseheads. Within minutes 1633 and 1st Assistant Chief 1602 were en route. Upon arrival on scene, 1602 established command. All occupants were safely out of the vehicle. The Town and Country Fire Dept. was assisted by the New York State Police, Chemung County Sheriff’s Dept. and Erway Ambulance. Units cleared shortly before noon.

Tuesday February 23rd 2010.- At 0750 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident Vehicle with Injuries on Ridge Road in the Town of Veteran. Within minutes 1633 and Chief 1601 were en route with a Full Crew of Six Firefighters. 1601 established command upon arrival. All occupants were safely out of the vehicle. The Town and Country Fire Dept. was assisted by the New York State Police and Erway Ambulance. Units cleared shortly after 0847 Hours.

Tuesday February 16th 2010.- 1651’s Re-Certification for “Aerial Operations”. Some of the testing done on the apparatus including weight testing of the boom.

Friday January 22nd 2010.- At 0729 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident Vehicle into a ditch Unknown Injuries just off of State Route 13 and Old Sullivanville Rd. Within minutes 1633 was enroute with Five Firefighters and also enroute was Chief 1601. 1601 established command upon arrival and notified responding units that all occupants were safely out of the vehicle. The Town and Country Fire Dept. was assisted by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office. Units cleared shortly after 0815 Hours.

Friday January 15th 2010.- At 1625 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident Vehicle into a pole Unknown Injuries on Colonial Drive in the Town of Big Flats.  Within minutes 1633 was enroute with Five Firefighters with Lt. 1613 in command. Command was established upon arrival The Driver of the Vehicle was transported to a local hospital. The Town and Country Fire Dept. was assisted by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Erway Ambulance, Dave’s Towing and NYSEG.. Units cleared shortly after 1700 Hours.

Thursday January 21st 2010.- At 1457 Hours T&C Units were dispatched Mutual Aid to Odessa on a Second Alarm Structure Fire. Tanker 1661 responded with 2 Firefighters and following shortly after was Engine 1631 with 5 Firefighters. Upon arrival, 1661 Supplied water to Odessa’s Engine HE-27, Engine 1631 established a drafting site with Montour’s Engine GE-17. The Crew of 1631 assisted Odessa command with Fire Suppression. Units were Back In Service shortly after 1700 Hours.

Sunday December 13th, 2009.- At 0700 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to Motor Vehicle Accident Rollover with Injuries on the Latta Brook Rd in the Town of Horseheads. Engine 1633 was out with four firefighters. En Route units responding were advised that there was entrapment. Rescue 1681 responded with a crew to assist with on scene operations. Command was established by 1st Assistant Chief 1602. Upon Arrival firefighters stabilized the vehicle. Extrication was completed by firefighters shortly after 0730 Hours. Tuesday December 8th, 2009.- At 0439 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Reported Structure Fire with Smoke in the Building at Dunkin Donuts on Chambers Rd South. Engine 1634,Tower 1651 and Engine 1631 responded. Upon arrival there was nothing visible from the exterior of the building. Firefighters were able to locate the problem and units were back in quarters at 0545 hours.

Friday December 4th, 2009.- At 1905 Hours T&C Units were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries at Chambers Rd South next to Firestone. Rescue Engine 1633 Responded with a full crew, and Rescue 1681 responded shortly after. Upon arrival, Incident Command was established by Lieutenant 1614. There were multiple cars involved and traffic was diverted around the accident. Units were back in quarters shortly after 2000 hours.

Saturday November 28th, 2009.- At 1344 Hours T&C Units were dispatched Mutual Aid to Odessa Fire Department in Schuyler County for a search of a missing subject in a heavily wooded area. 1631 Responded with five firefighters under the direction of Lieutenant 1613. Saturday, November 14th, 2009--At 1615 Hours T&C units were dispatched to Toys-R-Us for a HVAC unit that was overheating. Engine 1634 was on the road within minutes followed shortly after by Tower 1651 and Engine 1631. 1st Asst. Chief 1602 had Incident Command. Upon arrival firefighters were able to locate the unit and shut it down. Crews cleared the scene shortly after.

Friday, November 13th, 2009--At 1415 Hours, T&C units were dispatched Mutual Aid to the Village of Horseheads on a working Structure Fire. Engine 1634 responded with four firefighters. Upon arrival, T&C units assisted Horseheads with Fire Suppression on a well involved house fire. Units remained on scene for several hours.

Saturday, November 7th, 2009--At 1146 Hours T&C units were dispatched to a gas leak at a residence in the Town of Horseheads. Engine 1634 responded 1st Due, backed up by Tanker 1661 and Engine 1631. Crews arrived on-scene within minutes. Chief 1601 had Incident Command. New York State Electric & Gas was called to the scene to repair the gas leak. Crews remained on-scene until 1240 hours.

Saturday December 5th, 2009-  “Holiday Helpers”. Much to our surprise, the ladies from Heavenly Helpers of the Breesport Baptist Church, and the Sonshine Sisters held a free gift wrapping session for our volunteers. We would like to thank these ladies for removing such a tedious task from our holiday schedules. As you can see, they are very organized and efficient. Thanks again for all the help!
